There is a vast variety parks and recreation offered here in DeKalb County.
Edgar Evins State Park
Edgar Evins State Park is located on the shores of Center Hill Lake in the steep, hilly Eastern Highland Rim. The 6,000 acre park provides excellent recreational opportunities and accommodations on one of the most beautiful reservoirs in Tennessee. An observation tower at the Visitor Center offers a spectacular view of Center Hill Lake and the surrounding hillsides.
The marina located at Edgar Evins State Park is open year round. There are two boat launch ramps within the Park. The facility includes 300 slips, 250 that are covered. A full service dock is available. Along with the beauty of the area, at Edgar Evins State Park you will find a restaurant; a conference room and meeting centers that can accommodate 35 people and is handicapped accessible; a lodging complex along with tent and trailer campsites with water and electrical hookups; and interpretative programs for all ages during the summer months. There's a lot to do and see at Edgar Evins State Park! Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of our shaded picnic areas, come for a visit during one of the annual events, hike some of the parks approximately 11 miles of trails, fish beautiful Center Hill Lake or go for a swim. The park is located in DeKalb County, 20 miles north of Smithville, 20 miles west of Cookeville and 60 miles east of Nashville.
