Jacob’s Pillar
In 1857, Jacob's Pillar Methodist Church was established, with the land being donated by John H. Parsley. The building was also used as a school until around 1900, when Watkins School was built. Many Parsleys originated from the Jacob's Pillar area, along with Bethel Cantrell, Harvey "Babe" Patterson, and the Hicks family.
