Indian Mound
Indian Mound Baptist Church (1976)
We know that the Moundbuilder's lived here prior to white settlers arriving and even before the Native-Americans which shared the land as common hunting ground. The assumption can be made that the name Indian Mound was thus named after an Indian Mound. However, Historian Tommy Webb is not aware of any. In 1884, The Baptist Church was established in Indian Mound. By 1904, Indian Mound School existed. The Indian Mound The Baptist Church still holds monthly services.
